In 2002, the owners decided to extend it substantially and bring it "up to date"

The new areas would have underfloor heating and the old would retain their standard hot water radiators. Air conditioning was also to be added to all bedrooms and the 3 main reception spaces. All windows would have electric black-out blinds and the conservatory would have electric roof windows for automating.

All of the lighting, both internally and externally was replaced and many more added with architectural lighting used throughout.

Finally, whole house background music was required for all rooms and the patio.

This would normally have been done with several systems, all working independently, with some possible haphazard interactions.

However the architect was KNX aware and as a result, he sought out our services to implement an initial design, followed by budget planning and then successful contract securing.

The systems are nothing unusual, but a perfect demonstration of how KNX can meet all of a buildings needs and in this buildings case, expand as the situation changes.

In 2009, a swimming pool complex was started and this was naturally controlled by KNX. All of it was an extension to the existing systems allowing familiar control and expanded options.

What is interesting is that remote alarm monitoring has been set up across the systems. From a power failure, to the low flow rate of a solar heating pump, the owner and the correct service technicians will be informed by email.

Bi annual service visits keep the building in full operating condition and provide invaluable support to the owner.
