Mains preparation for 250kW solar system.

Runfold plastics are one of Britain’s few manufacturing businesses who work with plastics. Used for a wide variety of applications from cars to electrical installations, their operation is big and energy hungry.

Working with trusted partners AB Solar, we advised, costed and installed a new mains arrangement in order for the facility to have 3 large 100A/phase, 3 phase PV inverters ready to offset their daytime energy use.

The existing arrangement was quite dated and so in order to expand their ability to connect, we designed a system which could be installed without cutting their operating time and carried out a weekend changeover of power in order to minimise any disruption. The existing system also included a voltage stabiliser, made here in the UK, but suitable for the whole premises. We spoke to the manufacturer to check its suitability with the PV system in order to maintain the benefit it provides without any risk of a technical issue..

The team at GES Digital have been very helpful for our fledgling business. Iain has advised us on many technical elements to do with Photo voltaic’ s and their integration into homes and business’s. This includes very large system, installed on factories and care-homes.

Runfold is one such system which boasts 250kW of generating power which will reduce the operator’s annual electricity bill by up to £120,000. GES were able to give full confidence to our proposal with the operator and as a result, the work was undertaken.

The whole installation was carried out to a very high standard and our on-site engineers were very happy with the proposed and final installation. It really does look impressive.
